Zero Tolerance Policy

Government Degree College Kargil maintains a strict zero tolerance policy against ragging in any form, inside or outside the campus.

Ragging is a cognizable offence under UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.

Any student found guilty of ragging shall be liable for disciplinary action including expulsion from the institution, suspension, rustication, debarring from examinations, withdrawal of scholarship/fellowship, and/or lodging of FIR with the police.

What Constitutes Ragging?
  • Any act of physical or mental abuse targeting freshers
  • Forcing students to perform acts against their will
  • Verbal abuse, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
  • Any conduct that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm
  • Teasing, assigning tasks, or creating situations causing shame or embarrassment
