Government Degree College Kargil organised valedictory function of six-day Basic Smartphone Filmmaking Course, held from April 13 to April 18.This course was facilitated by LSDM Ladakh and concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from students.
The course aimed to equip participants with essential skills in smartphone filmmaking and enabling them to explore creative storytelling using accessible technology. The program was guided by Resource Person Shri Ajmal Jami, former Head of Department (Cinematography) at NDTV, whose expertise and practical insights greatly enriched the learning experience.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Prof. Disket Angmo, who welcomed the esteemed resource person and the special guest, Kacho Ahmad Khan(NSDite). She appreciated their presence and valuable contribution in making the program meaningful and impactful.
In her address, the Principal also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Secretary, Higher Education, Bhanu Prabha, and LSDM for their continuous support in facilitating such skill-based and enriching programs for students.
The course offered hands-on training in various aspects of filmmaking, including scripting, shooting, editing, and storytelling through smartphones. Participants showcased their projects during the valedictory function, reflecting their creativity and learning outcomes. Certificates were also distributed among the participants. And participants also share there experiences .
Out of 80 applicants, 30 students were selected for the course, where they received hands-on training in scripting, shooting, editing, and storytelling. The short films created by participants were screened during the closing ceremony, followed by certificate distribution.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Nazir Ahmad, Skill Instructor (Graphic Design).Refreshments were served for participants and faculty, marking the successful completion of the program.
