As a part of Nation Wide Celebration of National Sports Day, Department of Physical Education Government Degree College organised Intramural Sports Events on the occasion of National Sports Day on 29th August 2025.
On the inaugural ceremony, Principal Madam Disket Angmo graced the occasion as the chief Guest. The event started with of National Anthem followed by the inaugural address by Principal Madam Disket Angmo. In her inaugural address, she said that this day is especially significant because it marks the birth anniversary of Major Dhiyan Chand, the legendary hockey player who brought glory to our nation and made India proud on global stage. She emphasized the students to put maximum possible efforts for replacing the futile screen time with productive physical activities on playgrounds.
She further stressed upon respecting rules , valuing fair play, encouraging others and celebrating every effort to carry this spirit further into studies and practical lives.
Kaneez Fatima a student and enthusiastic player enlightened about the life and contribution of Major Dheyan Chand and
inspired the audience with her insightful thoughts.
Dr. Mustafa Ali (College Director Sports and Convenor Sports Committee) presented the event highlights besides the aims and objectives of the event ,on this occasion.
Mr. Shabir Hussain (AP Commerce), member sports committee presented the vote of thanks whereas Mohammed Tauheed (Senior Student) conducted the proceedings of the event.
Later intra mural Table Tennis played between different men and women teams in single as well as double categories.
